Do you dream of taking the stage in a big musical production?

Refine your talent in this two-week workshop dedicated to training voice, acting, and audition techniques. The program will culminate in two ways: 1) a video recording session to provide students with audition-ready tapes for college programs and professional reels and 2) a live showcase. Get a jump-start on the 2022-2023 audition season!

 
 

  • 1) Submit your registration and deposit by clicking Registration button above.

    2) Make your tuition payment. Tuition invoices will be emailed once students are registered.

  • Over the course of two weeks, all participants will receive the following:

    1) Three one-on-one voice coaching sessions: Dive into your solo voice repertoire and discover how to unlock your voice to get a standing ovation every time!

    2) Three one-on-one acting coaching sessions: Coach monologues to learn how to examine characters deeply and portray them authentically.

    3) Ensemble work: All participants will be assigned to an ensemble to perform scenes.

    4) Song Interpretation Masterclass: Participants will join instructor Katie Kibota in asking/answering tricky questions with our singers in order to find the deeper truths within our songs.

    5) Monologue Masterclass: Select will join instructor Mitch Garrison to get pointers on interpretation and authenticity.

    6) Video recording session: All participants will take part in our video recording session to capture their audition-ready tapes.

    7) Final Showcase: The program culminates in a final showcase of student solos/ensembles.

Kathryn Kibota,

Vocal Instructor

Katie Kibota is a professional singer, music director, and voice teacher in Vancouver, WA. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music with a Masters of Music in Vocal Arts and also holds a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Central Washington University. Role highlights include Mélisande (Pelléas and Mélisande, Debussy), Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Britten), Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Bellini), and Nancy (Albert Herring, Britten).

Kathryn is a Metropolitan Opera National Council Washington District Audition winner (2019).

 
 

Mitch Garrison,

Acting Instructor

Mitch has been involved with theatre since childhood. As the years have passed his love for the stage has grown immensely. He has gained experience with acting, directing, choreographing, and casting by participating in over thirty productions. He holds a Master's degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelor's in English and Theatre Arts, and is currently the Theater Director at Mountain View High School in Vancouver, WA.
